Composed of reflective blue glass and blue steel, this home blends within its environment through reflection rather than materiality or landscaping. Set within a luscious garden, the Blue House reflects its surroundings within a world of opaque and tinted reflections. A solitary white concrete guesthouse serves as a solid counterpoint challenging notions of mass and transparency. At night the Blue House is transformed into a reflection of internal life as its inhabitants occupy and circulate among the various spaces. The illuminated gardens are an extension of the internal spaces, underlining the notion that what ultimately defines the interiors of this home is climatic control, the hour of the day and the human activities that transcend the glazed facade.
